Parents Association
Our Parents’ Association is a vibrant and dedicated group that plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and enhancing the educational experience for all our students. We are incredibly proud of the collaborative spirit that defines our association, bringing together parents, our community, teachers, and pupils to create a supportive and enriching school environment.
Throughout the year, we organise a variety of exciting and engaging events that not only raise funds for our school but also provide memorable experiences for our children. One of our standout events is the Halloween Danceathon. This spooky and spirited event sees students dressed in their favourite costumes, dancing the day away while raising funds for school projects. It’s a day filled with laughter, creativity, and community spirit, making it a highlight of the school calendar.
As the festive season approaches, our Christmas Production brings joy and holiday cheer to the entire school community. This cherished tradition showcases the talents of our pupils in a heartwarming performance that is eagerly anticipated by parents and students alike. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, teamwork, and stage presence, all while spreading festive joy.

Our cake sales are another popular initiative that combines the efforts of parents and students to support our school. These delicious events not only help to raise funds but also promote a sense of togetherness as we all come together to bake, sell, and enjoy a variety of sweet treats. The cake sales are a testament to the strong community spirit at Faughart CNS, where everyone pitches in to make a difference.
In addition to these events, our Parents Association supports numerous non-uniform fundraisers coinciding with special celebration days such as International Day of Science, Technology and Innovation, World Children’s Day, International Day of Clean Energy, International Day of Families, International Braille Day, World Ocean’s Day, and World Earth Day. These celebration days are integrated into our Goodness Me Goodness You curriculum, reinforcing our values and aspirations as changemakers in line with our DCU Changemaker School status.

Parents also play a vital role in supporting our Active Week, Sports Day, and the highly anticipated end-of-year School Fun Day. These events promote physical activity, teamwork, and school spirit, providing students with opportunities to enjoy healthy, active lifestyles. The funds raised through these initiatives have been instrumental in purchasing books, maths supplies, and PE equipment, significantly enriching the resources available to our students.

To facilitate the organization of these initiatives, parents can join our WhatsApp group, which is an excellent platform for those who want to lend a hand. Please contact the school if you would like to be added to this group. The Parents Association meets five times a year in the school library, along with the principal and teachers. These meetings are a positive and collaborative space where we work together to make our school a happy place for our pupils, where they love learning.
