November Assembly in Room 1

We were all captivated by Room 1's assembly this afternoon with their wonderful presentations and singing. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the fantastic projects they have been working this month and we all had lots to be thankful for when we were given the opportunity to write them down during the assembly.

Intel Mini-Scientist Competition and School Science Exhibition

We ended science week on a high in Faughart Community National School by having our own science show where each class presented the science projects that they have been working on in class.

Parents then joined us for our science exhibition where all the pupils got the opportunity to talk about the science behind their projects and displays.

The hydraulic bridge, designed and made by three 6th class pupils will also get to present their project at Intel’s Mini Scientist Regional Final will take place at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) on Wednesday December 5th 2018. Have a look at their working model. Impressive teamwork and determination helped this winning team!

Battle of Faughart 700 year Anniversary

In recognition of the 700 year anniversary of the Battle of Faughart and the death of Edward De Bruce, 5th and 6th class pupils researched the topic and created powerpoints which they presented to their class.

The pupils developed their 21st century skills by researching and collaborating together online to create interactive projects and really enjoyed using their office 365 accounts in school and at home.
