Science Report

I'd love if you could compile your science experiment (to show biomass energy at work) into a report for me. Remember the format of a science report:

1 - Title

2 - Prediction

3. Materials

4. Method (procedure)

5. Results (include a picture or drawing)

6. Conclusion

Science Experiment to Show Biogas at Work

Have a go a following the directions below. The water needs to be quite out (almost from the kettle hot), so do get help from an adult for ths part.

I had a query about an alternative to yeast, and I suggested baking soda/power. If you use this option ,the reaction will probably be much quicker, so add the baking power in last and be ready with the balloon quickly.

I'd love to see alll your pictures/videos that show buigas at work.

LINK to Class Collaboration on Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy

I've enjoyed reading your research last week on renewable and nonrenewable energy. - See link above which you can add it if you didn't get a chance to do it last week.

This week we are going to  learn more about Biomass and I would like to start with you first watching this video summarising what Biomass Energy is: Power to the Poop

Biomass is any material made by plants or animals that we can convert into energy.

Have a look at how biomass is used in different countries around the world. Take notes and write about how Biomass is used in one of these countries and don't forget to share it with me.

Biogas in Ethiopia (from poop)

Biomass briquettes in India (from pine needles)

Biomass in Dublin (Waste to Energy)

Biogas in Ireland (Slurry and grass)
