On Tuesday and Thursday morning we engage in a few minutes of mindfulness, where we focus on breathing and stretching.

This week we are focusing on the theme of Television.

   - Students should repeat each term as it is introduced. 

   - Students and parents should assign a simple action to each word.

     Count the number of objects in each set.

     Record the total amount.                        


Senior infants group worksheet:


1. Find the first 'Before and after' worksheet.           2. Record the number before that shown

    Trace the middle number provided.                          and then the number after.                                                                                          



Fruit break - Have some fruit and take a break


Junior infants:

Listen to the jolly phonics song for /th/ at 10:12 and practice the actions for the /th/ sound by pretending to be a little rude and sticking your tongue out a small amount whilst saying "th" and very rude by sticking your tongue out even further and saying "th".

Tricky words 

Junior infants:  

- Teach new 'Live' and 'Give'

- Revise all the blue tricky words so far by playing 'snap'. 

Senior infants:

- Practice reading and writing your first set of tricky word balls.

Junior infants:

- Read stories 1 and 2 in the reader Sun hat fun

Senior infants group 1: 

- Begin reading your fourth reader On your bike  and revise it throughout the week.

- Senior infants should read a minimum of five pages per day.

Senior infants group 2: 

- Begin reading your fourth reader Up in the air and revise it throughout the week

- Senior infants should read a minimum of five pages per day.

Lunch - Eat lunch and head outside for a run around

Rhyme (Work pack B)  

Rhyming words have the same end or final sound. Emphasise the end sound of each word as you read it e.g. bAT, pEG, sAT. 

Practise this skill using the Rhyming pairs game


 1.  Find the fourth rhyming worksheet in           2. If you have small scissors you can assist  

      work pack B.                                                      your child with cutting out the pictures

                                                                                  Otherwise you can cut the table out for 



3. Match the pictures into rhyming pairs.

    Secure each using glue, sellotape or

    blue tack. 




Draw a picture of your favourite cartoon character.
