Morning meeting

Use this morning warm up Performance training  to get those minds and bodies moving!


On Tuesday and Thursday morning we engage in a few minutes of mindfulness, where we focus on breathing and stretching. 

Relax with Walking through the Jungle



This week we are focusing on the theme of Television.

Follow the link to access the Luascartaí. Practice the vocabulary by clicking the flashcard and displaying the picture.

   - Students should repeat each term as it is introduced. 

   - Students and parents should assign a simple action to each word.

   - Play the matching game by clicking the 'match' icon in the left hand column.



Complete the following physical counting exercises. The students must count out loud as they move.

- 5 star jumps

- Heel flicks for 15

- 8 hula hoops in one direction and 8 hula hoops in the other (hip circles)

- Hoping on your right foot for 6

- Hoping on your left foot for 6

- Hit the sky above your head for 20

- Crouch down on your hunkers and count backwards from 10 to 1 and jump up at *BLAST OFF*


Junior infants worksheet: 

Number formation rhymes

Number 3 : Curl for you and a curl for me.

Number 4 : Down, across and down once more.

Number 5 : Straight neck down and a round tummy, hat on top, five looks funny. 



 1. Find the 'Write' maths worksheet.                     2.   Count the number of items in each set.  

     Revise the formation rhymes for                             Trace each number with a pencil. 

     numbers 3, 4 and 5                           



Senior infants worksheet:


1. Find the 'Let's make 10' maths worksheet.           2. Draw in additional counters to fill up the 

                                                                                      ten frame.

                                                                                      Record the amount drawn in the 

                                                                                      corresponding number sentence. 

                                                                                      Read each way of making ten.  



 FRUIT BREAK - Grab some fruit and take a break.



Junior infants :

Listen to the jolly phonics song for /th/ at 10:12 and practice the actions for the /th/ sound by pretending to be a little rude and sticking your tongue out a small amount whilst saying "th" and very rude by sticking your tongue out even further and saying "th".

1. Find the /th/ colouring worksheet.                     2. Colour in the /th/' sounds. The sound 

                                                                                    could be at the start or the end of the word. 


Senior infants :

Pause the video at various points to seek answers or a response from your child. Each student should practice reading the /i_e/ words in the video.

Tricky words 

Junior infants : 

- Teach new 'Live' and 'Give'

- Revise all the blue tricky words so far by playing a 'Go fish'. 

Senior infants :

- Practice reading and writing your first set of tricky word balls. 




Junior infants:

- Begin reading your third reader Can you see me? and revise it until Wednesday.

- Junior infants should read a minimum of three pages per day.  

Senior infants group 1: 

- Begin reading your third reader Key Trouble and revise it until Wednesday

- Senior infants should read a minimum of five pages per day.

Senior infants group 2:

- Begin reading your third reader No tricks Gran and revise it until Wednesday. 

- Senior infants should read a minimum of five pages per day



  LUNCH - Eat some lunch and exercise outside. 


Rhyme Time (Work pack B) 

Rhyming words have the same end or final sound. Emphasise the end sound of each word as you read it e.g. bAT, pEG, sAT. 

Practise this skill using the Rhyming pairs game



 1.  Find the third rhyming worksheet in               2. If you have small scissors you can assist  

      work pack B.                                                      your child with cutting out the pictures

                                                                                  Otherwise you can cut the table out for 




3. Match the pictures into rhyming pairs.

    Secure each using glue, sellotape or

    blue tack.
